Estimates

Create and share pricing estimates for custom apparel orders before checkout. Save carts, download or email estimates, and review costs with stakeholders before purchasing.

What Are Estimates?

Estimates are shareable pricing summaries generated from shopping carts. They allow you to prepare an apparel order, review its costs, and share the details with others before committing to a purchase.

Estimates are particularly useful for orders requiring approval from coaches, administrators, purchasing departments, sponsors, or other stakeholders.

Because estimates are connected to saved carts, you can return to your product selections and continue the ordering process once the necessary approvals or purchasing arrangements are complete.

How Estimates Work

  1. Build Your Cart: Select products, customize your designs, and enter the quantities needed for your order. Your cart displays the applicable pricing as you make changes.
  2. Save Your Cart: Use the Save option in your shopping cart to preserve your selections. You can also email a copy of the saved cart as an estimate.
  3. Access Saved Estimates: Open Saved Carts from your account dashboard to retrieve previously saved orders.
  4. Download or Email: Generate a downloadable estimate or email it to someone who needs to review the pricing.
  5. Review and Approve: Share the estimate with the appropriate stakeholders to confirm product selections, costs, and purchasing authorization.
  6. Proceed to Checkout: Once you're ready to purchase, return to the saved cart, verify its current details and pricing, and complete checkout.

Saving or sharing an estimate does not submit the order or begin production.

What Information Does an Estimate Include?

Estimates provide a pricing breakdown based on the products and quantities in the associated shopping cart.

  • Products and Quantities: The merchandise included in the proposed order and the quantities selected.
  • Product Pricing: The applicable costs associated with the selected products and customizations.
  • Discounts: Any qualifying discounts reflected in the cart, including applicable Bulk Discounts or Account Discounts.
  • Shipping and Taxes: Applicable shipping charges and taxes included in the estimate.
  • Estimated Total: The calculated order amount for stakeholders to review before purchasing.

The estimate reflects the pricing information available when it is generated. Changes to products, quantities, discounts, or other order details can affect the final checkout total.

Estimates and Purchasing Approvals

Estimates help organizations complete their own purchasing reviews before submitting an order. They provide a document that stakeholders can examine without requiring the purchase to be completed first.

For example, an administrator can review proposed merchandise costs, a sponsor can evaluate the amount of funding required, or a purchasing department can use the estimate to prepare internal documentation.

Organizations can also use Team Access to assign appropriate account permissions to authorized users.

If your organization requires a formal Purchase Order, review the separate Purchase Orders process. An estimate can support internal purchasing preparation, but it does not replace an approved Purchase Order or complete the payment process.

Common Uses for Estimates

School and Team Purchasing

Prepare uniform and equipment apparel estimates for coaches, athletic directors, school administrators, or business offices.

Bulk Orders

Compare product selections and quantities before placing a larger order. Estimates help stakeholders review the applicable pricing and discounts.

Sponsored and Fundraising Orders

Share proposed merchandise costs with sponsors, fundraising organizers, or other funding partners before purchasing.

Multiple Purchasing Projects

Use Multi-Cart Save to maintain separate carts for different projects and generate individual estimates for each purchase.

Estimates vs. Order Lock

Estimates and Order Lock both support organizations that need time before purchasing, but they serve different purposes.

  • Estimates: Provide shareable pricing information for review and planning. The associated saved cart can be revisited and adjusted before checkout. An estimate does not guarantee that pricing will remain unchanged.
  • Order Lock: Preserves a finalized order and its pricing for 30 days while the organization completes internal purchasing requirements. Locked Orders remain pending and cannot be modified.

Use Estimates while reviewing costs, comparing options, or obtaining purchasing authorization. Use Order Lock when the order details are finalized and you need to preserve the pricing while completing the remaining purchasing requirements.
